Why it matters who hosts your website
Most small business websites sit with a big national company you have never talked to. That works fine right up until something breaks. Then you are in a chat queue, explaining your business to someone who has never heard of it.
We are a Southeast Texas IT company. When you open a ticket, it comes to us. We tell you what happened, what we did about it, and what happens next, in plain English.
We also do something a lot of hosts and web designers don’t. Your domain name is registered in your name, not ours. If you ever leave, it goes with you.
Three things worth knowing before you buy
1. The domain name is the part to protect
Your website can be rebuilt. Your domain name can’t be replaced. It is on your truck, your cards and every email you’ve sent. Make sure it is registered in your name, and that you know where it renews.
2. Use an email address on your own domain
An address like yourbusiness@gmail.com works, but it tells customers you are small and new. An address on your own domain looks established, and it stays yours no matter which email company you use.
3. Keep your own copy of your website
Our servers make regular backups, and we will restore from them if you ask. But a backup you hold yourself is the one you can count on. If your site matters to your business, keep a copy somewhere that isn’t the server it runs on.
Need more than a website?
ParJenn Hosting is one part of ParJenn Technologies. The bigger part is looking after the computers, networks, email and security of businesses in Southeast Texas and Houston, every day, for a flat monthly price.
If your business has outgrown calling someone when something breaks, that is what we do.
